    INTRODUCTION

    The Wall screen is used identify all walls in the unit and to enter new measures to be installed for those walls.  Each wall can be given a unique label (name), and you can enter existing windows and doors directly on this screen.  All windows and doors must be associated with the appropriate wall(s) on this screen before measures for them can be added on the Window/Door screen.

    • For Full House audits, the system will validate the size of the walls based on the House Dimension data entered on the Audit Information If the total of the walls entered on this screen exceeds the house dimensions, you will receive a warning message.

    The Wall screen is accessed by opening the client’s record from the Job List screen, then selecting Wall from the WEATHERIZATION menu.

    1. To create a new record, click Add.
    2. To view (read-only) an existing record, click View at the beginning of the row.
    3. To edit an existing record, click Edit at the beginning of the row. 
    4. To delete a record, click Delete at the beginning of the row.

    FEATURES AND TASKS

    Add a New Wall, Create Window and Door Types, Associate Windows and Doors with Walls, Add a Wall Measure, Enter a Wall Comment, Delete a Wall, Upload and View Photos, Print Wall Information, Related Tasks and Information.

    ADD A NEW WALL

    From the WEATHERIZATION menu:

    1. Select Wall and click Add.
    2. The Section Name will default to Wall 1, Wall 2, etc. based on the number of walls that have been entered, but you can enter any name to help identify the wall.
    3. Enter the R value of the existing insulation in the Existing R
    4. Select the Orientation of the wall from the drop-down list.
    5. Select the type of Framing from the drop-down list.
    6. Enter the Width of the wall in feet.
    7. If the wall is buffered, select the Buffered Zone from the drop-down list.
    8. Enter the Height of the wall in feet.
    9. Enter the Section Quantity. The quantity defaults to 1, but if there is more than one identical wall, enter the number of sections here. 
    10. The Net Square Foot is automatically calculated.
    11. Enter any comments in the Wall Comment box.
    12. Click Save.

     

    CREATE WINDOW AND DOOR TYPES

    1. Click the Create Window and Door Types
    2. The Type Name will default to Window Type 1, Window Type 2, etc. based on the number of windows that have been entered, but you can enter any name to help identify the window or door.
    3. Select the type of window or door from the Section drop-down list.
    4. The U Value will be automatically populated based on the Section you choose, but can be edited.
    5. Enter the Width of the window or door in inches.
    6. Enter the Height of the window or door in inches.
    7. Enter the Total Quantity of this window or door type for the entire unit. When you associate the window or door with walls you will specify how many are on each wall.
    8. The SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient) will default to 1, but can be edited.
    9. Enter the Percent Glass of the window or door.  For example, if the bottom half of a door is solid and the top half is glass, enter 50%. Most windows are 95 to 100% glass.
    10. Enter any comments in the Window/Door Comment box.
    11. Click Save.

     

    ASSOCIATE WINDOWS AND DOORS WITH WALLS

    1. In the Windows and Doors section of the screen click Add.
    2. Select the Window/Door to associate with the wall from the drop-down list.
    3. In the Quantity field, accept the default value or enter the correct number that is associated with this wall.
    4. Click  to Save the record.
    5. When all windows and doors for this wall have been entered, click Save.

     

    ADD A WALL MEASURE

    1. Click the Select Measure tab and click Add.
    2. Select the Measure from the drop-down list.
    3. Enter the Unit Cost of the measure.
    4. Enter the Quantity.
    5. Click  to Save the record.
    6. When all measures have been entered, click Save.

     

    • Health and Safety measures are not included in the overall SIR calculation for a job, but the cost of other non energy savings measures will contribute to the SIR.

     

    ENTER A WALL COMMENT

    1. Click in the Wall Comment box and enter comments.
    2. Click Save.

     

    DELETE A WALL

    From the WEATHERIZATION menu select Wall and click Delete   at the beginning of the row for that wall section. 

     

    UPLOAD AND VIEW PHOTOS

    From the WEATHERIZATION menu select Wall.

    To upload a photo:

    1. Click the Upload Photo button at the bottom of the screen.
    2. Enter any Notes relating to the photo.
    3. Under Upload File, click Select File.
    4. Locate the file to upload and click Open.
    5. Click Save.

    To View a photo:

    1. Click the View Photo button at the bottom of the screen.

     

    PRINT WALL INFORMATION

    From the WEATHERIZATION menu select Wall and click the Print button at the bottom of the screen.

    RELATED TASKS AND INFORMATION

    Window/Door

    Windows and doors can be added on the Wall screen or on the Window/Door screen, but they need to be associated with the appropriate wall(s) on the Wall screen before measures can be added.  Measures for windows and doors are added on the Window/Door screen after they have been associated with walls.
